Dr. Tony Evans once said, "God never said the kingdom life would be easy. He just said it would be worth it." He went on to say, "It’s easy to trust God when everything is right, blessings are flowing, prayers are being answered, needs are being met. That’s the fun part of the faith. But sometimes, you have to trust God when you don’t see the benefits, the blessings, and all the frills of the faith. We can learn to trust God in the dark, when there is not clarity, when He becomes inscrutable. He is still faithful."
I will give you treasures hidden in dark and secret places.
Then you will know that I, the Lord God of Israel,
have called you by name.
~Isaiah 45:3 (CEV)
As I sit and look out at the beautiful day outside, I am acutely aware that this beauty is in start contrast to the current dark state of our world. Now is not the time to throw up our hands and give up (although it is tempting). Now is the time to double down. Love more. Seek God constantly. Pray always. We need to keep seeking in order to find those treasures in the darkness. He is still there. He is still faithful.
