We traditionally mark the passing of another year with the making of New Year’s resolutions that involve making ourselves ‘new and improved’. There is something about this concept that draws us in and yet simultaneously frustrates us. For many of us, the resolutions sound very familiar because we have had the same ones for quite some time! This is because
In Zechariah 3, the Lord showed Zechariah a vision of Joshua, the high priest, standing, in filthy clothes, before the angel of the Lord with Satan standing beside him to accuse him.
“The angel said to those who were standing before him, ‘Take off his filthy clothes.’ Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”
In order to put the fine garments on – Joshua had to let the old filthy clothes go.
As 2015 winds down, what do you need to leave behind in 2015 to allow for something new that the Lord wants to do in 2016?
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. ~Isaiah 43:18-19
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
~ 1 Peter 1:3
Because of His Mercy...
