Wisdom without power is pointless; power without wisdom is dangerous.
                               ~Iain Pears.

If you were building a house and hired an electrician to wire your new house, he would be useless if he knew how (wisdom) to wire your house but could not actually accomplish it (power).

Wisdom without power is pointless...

On the other hand, if he jumped right in and started connecting things (power) without knowing how to put an overall electrical plan together, it's highly likely that circuits might be connected incorrectly or might get overloaded. In the best case scenario, your electricity might not completely function; in the worst case, an electrical fire might occur.

Power without wisdom is dangerous.

God's design for humanity was that we would have dominion over the earth.  We are meant to lead - to have impact - within the spheres of influence that God has placed us.  The only question is will our impact be empowered or ineffectual.

To fully live with the impact we were designed for, we must continually grow in wisdom....

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. ~ James 1:5

We must always seek His strength...

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. ~ Isaiah 40:29

Relying on His wisdom, bracing ourselves in His power, stepping out in faith to take action.  Only in this way can we truly have impact - reflect His love and grace to a world in desperate need of it.

We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might. ~ Colossians 1:9-11

Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. ~ Daniel 2:20
