We know that the Bible mentions eagles 33 times....and no Patriots! Now maybe we know why!
What a game! Last night, in Superbowl LII, the Philadelphia Eagles brought home their first ever Superbowl Championship with a 41 -33 win over the New England Patriots!
In all seriousness, with such a historic win, we have to sit up and take note. What can we learn from this team?
Don't quit.
"Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up."
~ Rocky Balboa
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will
reap, if we do not give up. ~Glatians 6:9 (ESV)
A strong foundation is key.
"My faith keeps me grounded every single day."
~Doug Pederson, Eagles Coach
Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person
who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents
and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t
collapse because it is built on bedrock. ~ Matthew 7:24-25 (NLT)
Success takes a team.
"An individual can make a difference but a team makes a miracle."
~ Doug Pederson, Eagles Coach
For it is from the head that the whole body, as a harmonious structure
knit together by the joints with which it is provided, grows by the
proper functioning of individual parts to its full maturity in love.
~Ephesians 4:16 (J.B. Phillips)
A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can
stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-
braided cord is not easily broken. ~Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)
Give all the glory to God.
"I can only give the praise to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ for giving
me this opportunity." ~ Doug Pederson, Eagles Coach
"All the glory to God.” ~ Nick Foles, Eagles MVP Quarterback
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of
the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
~ Colossians 3:17 (NIV)
