Every man, woman, and child needs encouragement regardless of their position or prestige. After President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, the clothes he was wearing when he was shot were placed in a box and given to his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. She never opened the box; but the box was passed down from relative to relative until it was finally opened in 1936. In the coat pocket a note was found. It was an article from a newspaper that said, “President Abraham Lincoln is one of the greatest and most humble leaders our nation has ever had.” The President carried it with him and it brought encouragement to him in a difficult time for him and the nation he served.
The apostle Paul exhorts us in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 to “Encourage one another” and Hebrews 3:13 adds the word “daily.” Let me challenge you to make this November the month to “Encourage” the people God puts around you. Each of us needs it. Each of us can give it. It may change someone’s life. It may change your life.
I am so encouraged to report to you that we have a $40,000 challenge grant that has been provided by a few friends. That means whatever amount you donate to Friendship Ministries over the next two months will be matched. All donations have to be dated on or before December 31. Please prayerfully consider making the most generous contribution you can.
“May God flood your life with His love, grace, and mercy. May the Holy Spirit fill your minds and hearts so your life overflows with joy and peace. May the encouragement you receive from God’s Word give you strength, wisdom, and guidance. May your relationship with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit deepen so you are led to genuine and wonderful times of thanksgiving and praise. May your time with family and friends be filled with laughter, and encouragement, and thanksgiving as you gather together on “Thanksgiving Day.” In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!”
Thanking God For Your Encouragement...
