Like the wind, our moods can change based on our circumstances. And our circumstances often don’t make sense to us. Bad things happen. Things occur that make us worried or fearful. Our experience or knowledge can’t make sense out of what's going on in our world.
In times like this, we must hold onto our faith. Our faith is not in the circumstances…not in specific outcomes…but in God himself.
Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time. ~Oswald Chambers
He is unchanging…
“ I the LORD do not change.” ~Malachi 3:6
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and
who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” ~Revelation 1:8
"For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything."
~1 John 3:20
“The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow
to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness..." ~Exodus 34:6
"...God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." ~1 John 4:16
And always there….
“I will be with you always.” ~Matthew 28:20
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” ~Hebrews 13:5
As you move into your week, it is easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of circumstances. I encourage you to take time to focus on the never-changing character of God.
