“The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino. ”
~Tom Hanks as Joe Fox in You've Got Mail.
Each day we are provided with opportunities to choose. And each of those choices help determine the kind of man we become.
"I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you."
~ Deuteronomy 30:15,16
Given that our choices are so important, how do we learn to choose wisely?
* Ask "Will the choice I make honor or dishonor God?"
Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me
will be disregarded.~ 1 Samuel 2:30
* Pray and ask God for His wisdom and guidance.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives
generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
~ James 1:5
* Seek Godly counsel.
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers
they succeed. ~Proverbs 15:22
"To wise choices I commit my day. If I succeed, I will give thanks. If I fail, I will seek his grace." ~ Max Lucado
