infinitely more than we ever dare to ask or imagine. ~Ephesians 3:20
The word "able" in Ephesians 3:20 comes from the Greek "dunamai;" which refers to the power one has by virtue of inherent ability and resources. We live in a culture that celebrates and reveres the individual's abilities, accomplishments and independence. We put those who accomplish much - those who have tremendous abilities - on a pedestal. And we spend a great deal of time and effort trying to get up on that pedestal ourselves.
However, while we are each given gifts and talents, we were never meant to rely on ourselves. We were created to be connected and dependent on a living and powerful God. Our abilities and resources are finite. His are infinite.
I don't know about you, but I can't make something out of nothing. God can.
God is able from these stones to raise up children. ~Matthew 3:9
I can't provide unlimited grace. God can.
God is able to make all grace abound to you… having all-sufficiency
in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
~2 Corinthians 9:8
I can't always keep myself from falling. God can.
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present
you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy.
~Jude 1:24
I can't always exceed expectations. God can.
Now unto Him who by His power at work within us is able to do
infinitely more than we ever dare to ask or imagine. ~Ephesians 3:20
Cease striving and know that I am God. ~Psalm 46:10 (NASB)
When we say, "I can't," God says, "Don't worry. I CAN."
Thanking God that He is more than able...
