During the Civil War, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow penned his now famous poem, Christmas Bells.
Why Bells??
Bells announce the coming or arrival of an event, activity, or occasion.
They toll for good times. They toll for bad times. They ring out warnings. Bells herald in the New Year. Bells are rung to announce the union of a man and a woman. They are rung during Christmas to announce the arrival of the season, to proclaim the birth of Christ.
May this bell remind you not only of who and whose you are. but also of Longfellow's last verse:
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men."
