_This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. ~Psalm118:24

Our Lord might put it this way:

"This is the day that I have made!  As you rejoice in this day of life, it will yield up to you precious gifts and beneficial training.  Walk with Me along the high road of thanksgiving, and you will find all the delights I have made ready for you.

_Be joyful always. Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Thanksgiving.  When you hear the word, most of us think of a feast, or a day off, or maybe even college football.

We think of it as a noun...a day that happens once a year that kicks off the Christmas season.  But actually it's a verb....something to be done...and not just once a year; not even just before each meal.

The great English writer G. K. Chesterton once wrote, "You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing, and grace before I dip the pen in the ink."   Chesterton also said that, "Gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder"
